Who We Are

Southwest Church is part of the Restoration Movement within the Church of Jesus Christ. We long for the unity of all of God's people, because that’s what God longs for. We are non-denominational, but we do participate with sister churches in projects and programs that glorify Christ and spread the gospel. We are not the only Christians; we simply want to be Christians only.

We believe that the Bible is God's inspired Word and our only standard for faith and practice. We believe that God’s Word holds absolute and essential truth for all mankind.  Within its pages, we discover core truths that are unchanging and indispensable for every person wanting to follow Christ.

We Believe

In one God–Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

In God the Father, Almighty, Creator of the Universe.

In Christ, God’s one and only Son, Savior of the world. Who was born Jesus of Nazareth, both fully human-divine, conceived of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary. Who suffered and was crucified under Pontius Pilot. Who died and was buried, and Who rose again from the dead on the third day. Who ascended into Heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father. Who will return to earth to judge both the living and the dead.

In the Holy Spirit, the active and person part of the godhead who indwells Christians.

In the Bible, God’s Word to man. We believe God inspired the original manuscripts and that they were inerrant. The Bible is the final authority for all matters of faith and practice.

In Salvation. The Bible teaches that all mankind, created by God, has sinned and is lost apart from Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches that salvation—the forgiveness of sins—is only possible by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches that a person is saved, upon hearing the Gospel preached, by placing their faith in Christ, by turning to God in repentance, by confessing Christ as Lord and by being immersed into Him.

In the Church of Christ, made up of Christians all around the globe. The Bible teaches that Jesus is the head of the church and has given authority to Elders to oversee and shepherd the local assembly.
