God Gave You A
TESTIMONY

Now is your chance to share it!

What Are We Trying To Do?

  • Share Christ

People remember stories. Christ Himself used stories continually. Our Christian testimony is telling the story of how our lives have been impacted by Christ! We have an opportunity to share that Good News with people who haven’t heard it before.

  • Share Southwest

We love our church, but people who haven’t visited don’t understand why Southwest is so cool. After our lives have been transformed by Christ, we need a home where we can connect with other Christians, where we can grow in our faith, where we can serve our Lord, and where we can be equipped to share the Good News with others. We get to share how Southwest is helping us in these goals.

  • Connect with our Community

What if telling your story was the thing that gave someone hope? What if sharing your past struggle is what connects with someone in a way that they’ve never felt before? What if your testimony encourages someone to take their first steps in faith? Would you share it?

What’s Involved?

Your role is pretty simple. Read through the questions below and prepare an answer as it relates to you, your story, and/or your testimony. Then schedule a time on the calendar below to meet with Roy so he guide you through the recording process.

Once recorded, Roy will edit the video into a series of videos to be shared with the community through various forms of media. There will be a longer video that encompasses the entire testimony as well as shorter clips that can be used on social media and in advertisements.

Testimonial Questions

Use the dropdowns here to get access to the testimonial questions we will ask. There is also some information about how the recording day works, wardrobe, and the concept of Before Sunday which is the unofficial project name. 😊

  • Click the link below to download the list of questions we will ask. We may not ask all the questions based on what you want to say, or where you are in your walk with Christ. But this should give you a guideline of what we will be asking.

  • It’s understandable that you might be a little anxious about the recoridng process. You may see the image below and get a little overwhelmed. But rest assured it’s not as hard or as scary as you may think.

Roy will be there to guide you through the process. He will have the equipment set up so all you have to do is come in and have a conversation with him. He will ask the questions in a casual way and the recording will be more like a bystander listening in on the conversation you and Roy are having. You don’t have to look directly at the camera. In fact you are more likely to just look at Roy and have a conversation with him.

For wardrobe choice, match what you would wear on a Sunday morning. If you prefer jeans and a t-shirt, wear that. If you want to throw on something more dressy, feel free. The only real rule is that it should be modest and not reveal too much skin. We don’t want the viewer to be distracted from the story.

  • All year we have been talking about how we go beyond sunday. That is great for Christians taking the next step in their walk with Jesus. But what about people who have never been to church, or maybe they were scared away from Jesus because of a poorly delivered attempt at sharing Christ? We want to reach people who are unchurched, and we are doing that through these testimonials. As a result, we are calling the project Before Sunday as in, “Before Sunday (or Before Christ) I was in this predicament, or I struggled with that, or I was lost… But then I met Christ and now I am …”
