What Is The Better Together Couples Event?
Marriage is one of the greatest gifts God has given us—a relationship meant to be nurtured, protected, and enjoyed. Whether you’re newly engaged or have been married for decades, Better Together is designed to help you invest in your relationship now, so it grows stronger year after year.
Over the course of this event, you’ll enjoy quality time with your spouse (or fiancé), strengthen your connection with God, deepen your bond with each other, and gain practical tools to keep your marriage thriving in every season. Through biblical teaching, meaningful conversations, and intentional time together, you’ll leave encouraged, equipped, and ready to build the relationship you’ve always dreamed of. Why Should I Attend This Event?
Better Together is open to any engaged or married couple looking to improve communication, feel a deeper connection, or just grow closer together. This event is designed to do all these things and more! Here is a short 1-minute video about the event from our presenters, David & Laurel Derry.
David & Laurel
Derry
David served as a pastor and church planter for 17 years before joining staff with Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ) in 2011. David & Laurel reside in Canal Fulton, have been married since 1998, and have two children.
They served with FamilyLife (a ministry of Cru) until 2020 when they accepted a new assignment with the prison ministry of Cru. Over their 12+ years on staff, they have shared the gospel through marriage ministry. As God has continued opening doors for the Derry’s to help lead marriage events in prisons, they have made that their primary focus in recent years. Many people have been coming to know Christ through these events, both here in Ohio, as well as in other locations around the country.

The event costs $25/couple and includes lunch, snacks, and all the event materials.

The Better Together Couples Event is for engaged and married couples. It doesn’t matter if you have been married for one year or 50 years; this event will be fun and meaningful for all couples.

Childcare will be provided Sunday evening only.
There will not be childcare on Saturday.
